Dr. Brent Gaskin is an ophthalmologist with particular interests in cataract surgery, ophthalmic plastic and orbital surgery and pterygium surgery.

 

​Dr. Gaskin has specialist training in surgical correction of:

​

• Cataract - Refractive cataract surgery - latest implants: toric, multifocal and extended depth of focus lenses

• Pterygium  - suture-free techniques

• Eyelid malposition (drooping or sagging eyelids)

• Functional and cosmetic blepharoplasty

• Peri-ocular skin cancer - removal and reconstruction

• Watery eyes - including scar-less endonasal tear duct surgery

Brent holds a current public appointment in the Orbital, plastic and lacrimal clinic at The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital. He was also previously a consultant at The Alfred Hospital. In both roles he has been involved with the surgical training of future eye specialists. 

​

Brent has been involved as an examiner with The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists for many years. He is currently on the board of examiners for the Advanced Clinical Examination, and previously was head of Anatomy as part of the Basic Science examiners group. 

​

He has been in practice on the Peninsula for more than a decade where he has hundreds, if not thousands of happy patients.
